I was digging through stuff last night and come across this poem that my Mom wrote me on September 28, 2001. I figured the timing of it was pretty appropriate...
He Chose You
I see it in your eyes
when the hope of a new love dies
I hear in your voice
"once again I'm not his choice"
I feel it in your heart
once again i'll make a new start
When your heart is torn to pieces
and the pain is too much to bare
give your heart to Jesus
for He will always care
Others will often let you down
as humans sometimes do
but Jesus' love is constant
and He has chosen you!
So lift up your eyes and dry your tears
He has come to claim your fears.
There is no greater love...
and He'll make your heart brand new
Though these times are painful
He'll make you truly thankful
If you'll but trust Him with your heart
He will bring that brand new start
God knows that one made just for you
Until he comes He'll keep you too
So give your heart to Jesus
He gave His heart to you
No other love on God's green Earth
will ever be more true!
when the hope of a new love dies
I hear in your voice
"once again I'm not his choice"
I feel it in your heart
once again i'll make a new start
When your heart is torn to pieces
and the pain is too much to bare
give your heart to Jesus
for He will always care
Others will often let you down
as humans sometimes do
but Jesus' love is constant
and He has chosen you!
So lift up your eyes and dry your tears
He has come to claim your fears.
There is no greater love...
and He'll make your heart brand new
Though these times are painful
He'll make you truly thankful
If you'll but trust Him with your heart
He will bring that brand new start
God knows that one made just for you
Until he comes He'll keep you too
So give your heart to Jesus
He gave His heart to you
No other love on God's green Earth
will ever be more true!

I remember at the time thinking it was the end of the world because some boy didn't like me and now I can't even remember who that boy was. It's funny how when we're young little things like that seem so huge. After reading this poem back in 2001 I completely handed my relationships to God and told him going into each one..."if this is not of you I don't want a part of it" and to remove the person from my life and over the years he has proven that He is in control and shown me that we may think what we have is great and of Him, until something better comes along and makes you shout "Thank you Lord!" I feel like Jesus was there with me in previous relationships saying "if you think this is good, just wait until you see what's in store" because I could have never imagined it. It's like my mom said in the poem, God knows the one made for you...and though it took me a lot of heart ache to get to him, I finally did and it was so worth it! So I just want to say Thank you Lord!!!
